The MPS MP44018A is a critical conduction mode (CrM)/discontinuous conduction mode (DCM) controller. The device enables efficient, high-performance active power factor correction (PFC) with minimal external components. The MP44018A features reduced switching frequency (fSW) through dead time (DT) extension technology for enhanced light-load efficiency. Additionally, the MP44018A achieves lower total harmonic distortion (THD) via variable-on-time control in DCM, surpassing conventional constant-on-time (COT) control.
