Microchip Technology MTCH3240P 24-Channel Touchscreen Controller combines a charge-transfer acquisition engine with Microchip's capacitive sensing technology to provide accurate multi-touch detection and tracking. The controller supports both mutual and self-capacitance measurements, enabling designers to implement robust touch interfaces and improve touch reliability and responsiveness. The device supports up to 32 mutual-capacitance keys or up to 24 self-capacitance keys, with configurable key arrangements, sliders, and wheels. The MTCH3240P incorporates configurable acquisition schemes, noise-suppression technology, and touch-panel diagnostics for reliable operation in electrically noisy environments. Additional features include encrypted configuration parameters, firmware authentication, configurable test limits, and diagnostic reporting through dedicated outputs or object protocol messages.
Microchip Technology MTCH3240P Controller provides power-saving modes that automatically transition between active and idle operation to optimize system efficiency. The series supports touchscreen implementations behind non-conductive materials, including glass and plastic overlays, and integrates with host systems through an I2C interface.
