Cirrus Logic CDB43198K Evaluation Kit
Cirrus Logic CDB43198K Evaluation Kit is a dedicated platform for testing and evaluating the CS43198 high-performance DACs. This evaluation kit consists of an evaluation board, a USB cable, and a High Dynamic Range (HDR) measurement board (CDB-HDR-MEAS). The CDB43198 board directs the clock from the digital input sources to/from the CS43198 UTs by utilizing five buffers with direction control. This evaluation board uses the J42 pin that provides an I2C interface to connect a host adapter to support communication with a smart codec. The smart codec helps perform listening tests with various equalizer filters based on the impedance of the attached headphone.
The CDB43198K evaluation kit features headphone and line outputs, configurable serial audio headers, USB audio module capability, and WISCE™ I2C-based software control. The CDB-HDR-MEAS board is an ultra-low-noise preamplifier circuit with 13.66dB gain. This board measures the very low HDR of the CS43198 device. The CDB-HDR-MEAS board preserves the dynamic range of the input signal while amplifying the signal. This helps to overcome the noise floor limitations of the audio analyzer.
