KEMET PME295 Metallized Impregnated Paper Capacitors, Class Y1 offers AC line EMI suppression with self-extinguishing impregnated paper for excellent self-healing properties that ensure long life even when subjected to frequent overvoltages. PME295 capacitors are ideal for use when a Y1 or double-insulated film capacitor is required. With a 480VAC UL/CSA voltage rating (440VAC in Europe) this film capacitor is also suitable for Y2 applications at industrial voltages.

Applications
Typical applications include safety capacitors for the bridging of double or reinforced insulation applications, requiring voltage tests up to 4,000VAC at 60 seconds. PME295 capacitors can be left in place during this test.
