KYOCERA AVX FLEXITERM® and FLEXISAFE® MLCCs feature enhanced mechanical strength and are ideal for automotive and medical applications, depending on the model. These MLCCs satisfy the requirement for enhanced mechanical strength by ensuring electrical integrity is maintained while external forces are being applied to the component. KYOCERA AVX FLEXITERM MLCCs provide up to 5mm of flexure without internal cracks.

MLCC Types
High Voltage FLEXITERM MLCC - High voltage chip design that exhibits low ESRs at high frequencies and features high value, low leakage, and small size characteristics. These MLC chips feature FLEXITERM technology and are ideal for resonators in SMPS, snubbers in high-frequency power converters, and high voltage coupling/DC blocking applications.
X7R Dielectric Automotive FLEXITERM MLCC - Enhances the mechanical flexure and temperature cycling performance of a standard ceramic capacitor with an X7R dielectric. The X7R MLC chips feature a flexible termination system, a base metal electrode system, and an increased temperature cycling performance.
X8R/X8L Dielectric Automotive FLEXITERM MLCC - AEC-Q200 qualified and operates at elevated temperatures while providing high stability with low loss, and stable capacitance over temperature. The X8R/X8L is ideal for hybrid automotive applications and automotive on-engine applications.
FLEXISAFE Automotive FLEXITERM MLCC - Designed specifically for safety-critical applications and features FLEXITERM technology. The FLEXITERM layer protects the component from damage due to mechanical stress during PCB assembly or in usage with end users.
X7R Medical MLCCs - For use in medical applications other than implantable/life support. These multi-layer ceramic capacitors offer enhanced LAT, including reliability testing and 100% inspection.
KAF Automotive FLEXITERM MLCCs - High mechanical performance able to withstand the 5mm bend test with increased temperature cycling performance of 3000 cycles and beyond. These MLCCs are suitable for automotive applications, variable temperature applications, and high-flexure stress circuit boards.
