Remotely Monitor Device Status with Advantech's ADAM-6000 Ethernet I/O Modules Now at Mouser

January 5, 2015 - Mouser Electronics, Inc. is now stocking the ADAM-6000 Series of Ethernet I/O Modules from Advantech. These modules provide I/O, data acquisition, web browser and networking capabilities. The ADAM‑6000 series retrieves I/O values from sensors, and distribute them as real-time I/O values to networking nodes through LAN, intranet, or internet. Each module is engineered with Advantech's Peer-to-Peer (P2P) and Graphic Condition Logic (GCL) technology, and can provide a cost-effective, distributed monitoring and control solution for measurement, control and automation.

The Advantech ADAM-6000 Series of Ethernet I/O Modules, available from Mouser Electronics, are a single module, mixed I/O devices that remotely monitor device status information with more flexibility. Each module is essentially its own web server, which allows data to be accessed from anywhere with internet access. This helps reduce engineering efforts and maintenance costs since no additional controllers or programming is needed. The system can be easily configured using a simple user interface. This interface allows users to configure user-defined web pages to meet the diverse needs of various industrial and Internet of Things applications, including those in building automation, environmental monitoring, facility management and eManufacturing.

Advantech's ADAM-6000 series of products use 16‑bit, sigma‑delta analog to digital converters to measure voltage, current, and thermocouple data. The digital input/output channels provide three operational modes, with each channel able to set its operating mode independently. Both the analog and digital input/output modules are offered in various channel options, and operate over 10V to 30V.

All the modules within the ADAM-6000 series feature a 10/100 Mbps communication rate and 2,000 VRMS isolation between the I/O and Ethernet port. Each module supports standard HMI software, including the industrial popular Modbus/TCP protocols over TCP/IP for data connection. The modules also support UDP protocol over Ethernet networking.
