Banner Engineering SX5 Series Safety Scanners
Banner Engineering SX5 Series Safety Scanners are Electro-Sensitive Protective Equipment (ESPE) that protect personnel, equipment, and mobile systems within a user-defined area. These two-dimensional laser scanners continuously scan a 275° area to create a two-dimensional protected zone that must be crossed to reach the hazard. The SX5 safety scanners employ Active Optoelectronics Productive Devices responsive to the Diffuse Reflection of Radiation (AOPDDRs) as per the international safety standard IEC 61496-3 requirements. The optical radiation is a class 1 infrared laser generated within the devices.
The SX5 series safety scanners can individually define from three to 70 safety zones (depending on the model) and two warning zones using a PC. The safety zone range of 5.5 meters at 70mm or 3 meters at 40mm resolution is possible. Also, highly flexible safety and warning zones can be set to match the shape of the work area. These laser safety scanners are suitable for horizontal, vertical, and AGV applications.
